Our Shared Homes (OSH) is a home exchange membership for people who want to travel differently. Instead of paying for hotels, members exchange homes with each other, so every trip feels like staying somewhere you truly belong. Beyond home exchange, OSH also connects you to a like-minded community of home exchangers, eco conscious and slow travellers, van lifers, pet owners, and digital nomads, all looking for more meaningful, affordable, and sustainable ways to see the world.

Joining OSH is free. You can list your home, browse listings, and message other members at no cost, for as long as you like. Membership only activates when you complete your first exchange, at which point you'll be prompted to pay your annual membership fee, so you only pay once you've already got something real in hand. If you join and complete your first exchange during our Founding Member window, you'll lock in AU$260 a year for life, plus 15 Welcome Credits and permanent Founding Member recognition on your profile.

OSH Credits are the currency that makes flexible home exchange possible, letting you stay with another member even when a direct swap isn't on the cards. No cash changes hands. You earn Credits when you join, by hosting or through referrals, and can also top up your balance with a one time yearly purchase. Credits never expire and roll over year to year. 

You'll receive Welcome Credits automatically once your listing goes live and ID verification is complete, 15 Credits - around 1 week of accomodation!  You'll also earn Credits through referrals, hosting guests, or by purchasing a top up once a year.

Every member is verified through Entrust, formerly Onfido, a leading global identity verification company trusted by banks, airlines, and government agencies. You'll photograph your government issued ID, take a quick selfie to match it, and your details are checked against trusted global records. None of this data is stored by OSH, it's held securely by Entrust and used only to confirm your identity. We do this to ensure every listing and every member is real! 

Yes. Your identity is verified through Entrust and your payment details are handled securely through Stripe, neither is stored on OSH's own systems. Other members only ever see what you choose to share on your profile and listing. Your exact address and contact details stay private until you've confirmed an exchange with another verified member. We take this seriously! 

OSH doesn't provide insurance to members, so it's important to sort your own cover before you exchange. If you're hosting, let your home and contents insurer know your property will be used for guests, and confirm your policy covers guests staying in your home. As you are not exchanging money, it is essentially like having a friend stay in your home. 

It's really up to the agreement you have with your exchange partner. Many listings specify their pet rules, and many members are happy to welcome pets, some even arrange to look after each other's pets as part of the exchange. Just have the conversation early so everyone's on the same page!
